The First Race
The first Spec MX-5 Challenge race for Alex will be at Buttonwillow Raceway Park utilizing Track #13CW on Saturday, and Track #14CW on Sunday.
All the work Alex has put in off the track has led up to this.
How He Earned His Seat
Alex earned his seat on the Factory team by participating in the Mazda Motorsports USA Spec MX-5 Factory Team Scholarship Shootout, and earned 1 out of the 2 available seats for the Factory team, from 18 of the best kart racers in North America.
Of the 18 drivers, Alex was not only the youngest, with driver ages varying up to 22 years of age, but he was also the only Canadian.
Alex’s goals for the upcoming season is to have a solid performance throughout the year and to finish in the top 3 at the end of the year in the Championship standings.
As always, Alex would not be able to go racing without the help of his partners.
