Race Recap

Qualifying:

On Saturday, Qualifying was the only session of the day.
Unfortunately, I had some car trouble, which only allowed me to complete 1 flying lap, (I also got held up on that 1 lap by a slower car in a different class).
Fortunately, though, my one lap was enough to place me in P4 on the grid for Sunday’s Race #1.

The Mazda Motorsports USA Factory Team, Haag Performance, was able to fix the car issue quickly and correctly!

Race #1:

I started P4 in Race #1, and I made my way up through the field, with help from my Fast, Piston Pumping Mazda MX-5 2.0L DOHC In-Line 4 Engine, built by Haag Performance. Before lap 10 was complete, I was leading the race, with my teammate, Bryson Morris, in P2 having a great battle with me.

With only a handful of laps remaining, I was running closely behind the sister Mazda Spec MX-5 of Bryson Morris, when another quicker car (from a different class) came up to pass me and unfortunately made me lose a few seconds and 2 spots.
I ended the race in P2.

Race #2:

In Race #2, I started P2 and worked together with my teammate (P1) to break away from the field. Unfortunately, the same car that caused me trouble in Race #1 was not done with passing in bad spots. As I lost about 2 seconds to the leader with halfway to go.
On the second last lap, the leader made a mistake which allowed me to re-pass him.

Out battle was right down to the finish line, as we were side-by-side in the last corner, and the gaps were only separated by 0.150 seconds!

Congratulations to my teammate, Bryson Morris, who came out on top, at the end of a great battle!
