ABOUT ALEX

Alexander Berg

Car Racer

My name is Alex Berg. I am 17 years old, born and raised in Calgary, AB, Canada. I now live in Buford, Georgia.

My father, Allen Berg, raced in F1 in 1986 and made his career in racing. In all his lifetime, Allen has been involved with racing, and therefore, ever since I was born, like father, like son, I have naturally always been surrounded by racing.

I speak 3 languages, having gone to a French immersion school for 6 years. I speak English as my primary language with my father and speak Spanish with my mother.

In 2020, I was selected by eKartingNews.com as one of the 18 best kart racers in North America to participate in a Mazda Motorsports USA Factory Team Scholarship Shootout. The prize of being selected was to be a Mazda Motorsports Factory Team driver and to compete (2021) in the Spec MX-5 Challenge with the Factory Team.
Out of the 18 drivers, I earned 1 out of the 2 spots on the team and raced in the 2021 Championship for the Factory Team in the Spec MX-5 Challenge. Finishing 2nd in my championship, with 3 wins and 5 podiums!

I work just as hard off the track as I do on track. Throughout my short time in car racing, I have been able to create various business partnerships, including Penn Elcom (Orange County, CA), R&L Project Freight Forwarders (Vancouver, BC), and DAE Systems INC. (Claremont, NC), ATNA Pharma Consulting (Raleigh, NC) MySim.CA (Toronto, ON), Stilo USA, EasyDrift Technology, (Gainesville, FL).

In 2022, I competed in both the Spec MX-5 Challenge Series with Denton-Carden Racing, as well as the F4 U.S. Championship with Doran Motorsports Group. Winning the South Region Championship in Spec MX-5 and finishing 5th in Points for the lone-car Doran-Kroll Competition team in their first year in the Championship.

I am working to create business-to-business mutually beneficial partnerships to create more marketing value for my partners. My goal in life is to be a marketing pro, as well as to make a living driving a racecar.

Most recently, I have been selected as a winner of the Team Canada Scholarship (TCS), and I will be heading to Britain this October to represent Canada and compete in the Formula Ford and the Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone and Brands Hatch. It will be an honor to represent my country, which is a dream of mine.

As said above, my goal in life is to be a professional racing driver, but I did not specify what kind. This is because I do not know what opportunities might come my way in the future, and my end goal is to become a professional racing driver of any kind, e.g., IMSA GTP, NASCAR Cup, NTT IndyCar Racing Series, Formula 1, WEC, FIA WRC, and much more.

I am a Senior in High School, attending the Champion Preparatory Academy based out of Orlando, FL.

My workout routine is built up of going to the gym (working mainly on cardio/weights), and recently, I have picked up the hobby of waterskiing. During the summertime, I work out every day and go waterskiing early morning to work on my cardio while giving my body a rest from the gym 6 days per week.

As of November 2022, I have been hired by Ligier Automotive to be their designated test driver, developing different types of racecars and any testing they want to be done. This is a paid role and a phenomenal opportunity to develop my skills as a test driver. I am currently working on a

2023 is my third year racing cars and eighth year in motorsport. I am racing the #08 Rohde & Liesenfeld / ATNA Pharma Consulting / Doran Motorsports Group Ligier JSF4 in the F4 U.S. Championship powered by Honda.

My work experience on the coaching side includes working as an instructor/assessor for Mercedes Benz Research & Development North America. As well as several years of one-on-one coaching in various types of vehicles. I primarily do work for Allen Berg Racing Schools as an instructor, in not only the mainstream formula car programs but doing specialized work for them as well.
